TRA Announces it's Annual Strategic Partner Award Winners

May 30, 2011

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) held its Strategic Partners Award Ceremony to honor its valuable partners for their support and cooperation during 2010. The awards ceremony took place on May 29 2011, at Fairmont Bab Al Bahr Hotel, Abu Dhabi.

The awards included several categories: government and private bodies, ICT companies and media. This prestigious award was conferred by TRA senior management in a ceremony aiming to express thanks and gratitude to those who supported the authority in achieving its goals during 2010.

H.E. Mohamed Nasser Al Ghanim, TRA Director General, commented on the event saying: “We firmly believe that dynamic partnerships lead to success. The TRA strategy relies on a powerful network of partners to help us implement our mission and vision.”

He also pointed to TRA 2010 successes on global and local levels, stating that strategic partners played a vital role and were consistently supportive and efficient in their efforts.

The awards ceremony will include media members, TRA strategic partners and stakeholders who delivered outstanding performances. They have received their awards from H.E. Mohamed Al Ghanim and Board members.

The past year has witnessed active cooperation between the authority and its partners, which resulted in many significant accomplishments. Key among these achievements was re-admittance to the membership of the International Telecommunication Union Council for a second consecutive term. In November 2010, the TRA won the Khalifa Award for Excellence, in recognition of achievements that contribute to the leading role of the UAE in ICT industry.

Al Ghanim expressed his gratitude to strategic partners, inviting them to continue to work closely with TRA in its quest to develop the ICT sector and implement best practices in this era of rapid telecommunications growth and change.
