The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) held a coordination meeting with the Public Prosecution- Judicial Department in Abu Dhabi to discuss applying the procedures regarding the power of Law Enforcement Officers, which has been given to some TRA employees in accordance with the resolution of Minister of Justice number 521 for the year 2009.

The meeting discussed the penalties stipulated in the Federal Law by Decree No. 3 of 2003, and its amendments and implementing regulations and ways to apply them. The TRA has provided a keynote of its most important achievements and strategic objectives to create a secure ICT environment in the United Arab Emirates.

The meeting was attended by Engineer Tariq Al Awadhi, Executive Director of the Spectrum Management and International Affairs in (TRA), Engineer Mohammed Gheyath, Executive Director of the Technology Development Affairs and a number of engineers and legal advisers in the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority as well as the legal adviser of Abu Dhabi prosecution.

On this occasion, Eng.Tariq Al-Awadi said: "The coordination meeting endeavors to exchange expertise and develop solutions to coordinate on the violations set in the Federal Law by Decree No. 3 of 2003, and its amendments, where Abu Dhabi prosecution fully cooperated with us in order to reach a final version that ensures optimum application of the articles of the law and to prevent mistakes during its implementation.
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Justice had earlier held a training course for TRA staff so as to give them the power of Law enforcement officers.
