In correlation with the strategy of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) that aims at achieving a secure cyber environment, the UAE Computer Emergency Response Team - a TRA initiative - is set to organize two workshops for female students and mothers at the Al Ebdaa School of Dubai. The first workshop took place on October 26, 2010 for students and the other workshop on November 23, 2010 for mothers.

The workshops are oriented to shed more light on the potential cyber threats that could jeopardize the status of users as well as system in use. Furthermore, it delivers enlightenment and explanation on the impeccable performance users should abide with to minimize the margin of cyber threats and limit its negative income.
Girls ranging from the age of five to fifteen are the target age group of the workshop. Hence, it occurred to the team the necessity of discussing and presenting the online behavior that users should abide with, especially while on social networking portals, specifically facebook. Let alone the fact that social networking has become a major component of today's targeted age group. Additional information on social networking online portals featuring their benefits, threats as well as the importance of safeguarding personal information while networking with others will be presented during the workshop.
His Excellency Mohamed Nasser Al Ghanim, Director General of TRA, stressed the importance of the workshop stating that: "The Authority aims at spreading cyber security among the social divisions ensuring maximum internet benefits while minimizing cyber threats."
Al Ghanim continued adding that: "Communicating with students and their parents through these workshops guarantees achieving double the benefits and more positive results". For that, the aeCERT team will continue to initiate and manage workshops for schools and other educational institutions.
Both works incorporate presenting information and safety strategies dedicated to provide security to the users and the system in use. Also, lecturers aspire to enrich the moral beliefs of internet users, encouraging them to utilize it while using the internet. Furthermore, the teams emphasis on the importance of using authentic software while spotting the dangers of pirated programs, shedding light on refraining from breaching cyber information of a second party or abuse it in any shape or form.
The aeCERT team is initiating several activities affiliated with cyber breach prevention, focusing on spreading a safe cyber environment. The various activities cover the MoUs and partnerships while initiating workshops and educational segments. Also, the team adopts a policy that ensures cross communication among the different age groups of the various social segments such as students, parents, and employees working for governmental as well as private companies.
