In correlation with the strategy of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) that aims at achieving a secure cyber environment, the UAE Computer Emergency Response Team – a TRA initiative – is conducting workshop for students in Rugayah secondary school in Sharjah.

The workshop aims to highlight the potential cyber threats that can be exposed to users as well as devices. Furthermore, it delivers enlightenment and explanation on the impeccable performance users should abide by to minimize the cyber threats and its negative consequences.

The workshop includes a comprehensive explanation on safety strategies dedicated to provide security to the users and the system in use. Also, lecturers aspire to enrich the moral beliefs of internet users, encouraging them to utilize it while using the internet. Furthermore, the teams stresses on the importance of using authentic software while spotting the dangers of pirated programs, shedding light on refraining from breaching cyber information of a second party or abuse it in any shape or form.

His Excellency Mohamed Nasser Al Ghanim, Director General of TRA, stressed the importance of the workshop stating that: “The Authority aims at spreading cyber security among the social divisions ensuring maximum internet benefits while minimizing cyber threats.”

Al Ghanim continued adding that: “Communicating with students and their parents through these workshops guarantees achieving double the benefits and more positive results. For that, the aeCERT team will continue to initiate and manage workshops for schools and other educational institutions.

The aeCERT team is initiating several activities affiliated with cyber breach prevention, focusing on spreading a safe cyber environment. The various activities cover the MoUs and partnerships while initiating workshops and educational segments. Also, the team adopts a policy that ensures cross communication among the different age groups of the various social segments such as students, parents, and employees working for governmental as well as private companies.
